Random Fact: I am a Marine wife and a mother to three wonderful
kids. I have always wanted to do some sort of modeling, so this cover was the
perfect opportunity.
About the Shoot:
We did
the shoot at the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel in Rehoboth Beach, DE.
The hotel has an old Victorian
theme, so the background was perfect for the book. The majority of the photo
shoot was done in the main lobby of the hotel, and the remaining pictures were
taken in the dining area and the outside patio. We did the shoot in November,
so while we were outside it was cold, but with the wind blowing and the ocean behind
us, it was perfect for the cover.
It was
the off-season at the beach, so there weren’t a lot of people around, but the
people who were there had fun watching us! The book has a serious tone and, of
course, the cover had to reflect that so the hardest part for me was not to
smile. There were actually times where I had to smile and laugh just before the
picture was taken so I could try and have a serious look on my face. I am a
very upbeat and bubbly person and for me not to smile when someone’s taking my
picture was really hard.
We had a lot of fun that day and got a lot of great
pictures from the shoot. Larry and Jen were fantastic to work with and (as you
can tell by the cover) they do amazing work!
