How do I purchase and use teaching materials in electronic format?
All of our Prestwick House teaching materials are available for download on our website. Not only will you be charged no shipping on these orders, but you will also receive them immediately. After placing your order, you will be able to download the teaching materials from the “My Downloadables” tab on the main menu. You will be able to download these materials as many times as you like and from any computer with an internet connection for 30 days after your purchase. Note that you will not receive a binder with the purchase of downloadable materials.
All our downloadable materials are in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format. You can download and install this software for free at:

How can I use a purchase order online?
Only schools can use a purchase order at Prestwickhouse.com. You first need to request that we authorize your account to use purchase orders - you can do this by clicking on “My Account.” Once customer service has verified your school's billing and shipping information, your account will be able to use a purchase order on our site.
Is
Prestwick House uses both ControlScan and THAWTE security to make sure that the personal information you send us is safe. Controlscan checks our site daily to make sure that it is not vulnerable to attacks. When you see the ControlScan logo, you can be sure that doing business on prestwickhouse.com is as secure as doing business over the phone.
When will I get the books I order?
Most orders (95%) are shipped within 24 hours of the time we receive them. Orders shipped via UPS ground (our default shipping service) are generally received by our customers within 10 business days depending on the distance the shipping address is from our Delaware warehouse. Orders shipped to locations on the East Coast will be delivered within 3-5 business days. Our Mid-West customers usually receive orders 5-7 business days after ordering. Customers in the
UPS will not ship to PO Boxes, and we will need a valid street address in order to be able to process your order and deliver them within the aforementioned time frame. If you need your books more quickly, you can also choose to have them shipped via an expedited service as described below.
How much is normal shipping (UPS ground)?
For orders of $50.00 or less, shipping is $6.00. For orders with a total between $50.01 and $799.99, shipping charges are 12% of the order's total. For orders over $800.00, add 10% to your order for shipping. Customers outside of the
What options are available for expedited shipping?
We offer expedited services from UPS including Next Day, 2nd Day, and 3rd Day Air. The price depends on the location to which we are shipping and the weight of the package. Our web page will automatically calculate the cost of shipping on our check-out page. Expedited orders placed after 2:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time will not ship until the following business day.
Can you help me find a book not listed in the catalogue or on the web site?
If there is a book that you want but can't find, we can get it for you. Our team of researchers adds new and exciting material to our database every day, but teachers like you are still the best source for keeping us up with the changes in the field. If there is a book you need, just give us a call at our toll free number or e-mail us via our contact page.
Can you tell me if a title is appropriate for my classroom?
You may want to first consult your state's Department of Education to find out which novels are appropriate for which grade levels. All of our teaching materials that cover a novel are written to be appropriate for the grades and classes that would be reading that particular novel.
You may also call during normal business hours and ask to speak to our curriculum specialists who are on hand to answer any questions you may have about using any of our material. At Prestwick House, our commitment to making your teaching burden lighter begins before you ever place an order, so if you find that a title doesn't fit your classroom's needs, we have a hassle-free return policy to make your life easier. Since you know your class' needs better than anyone, we have created a “Professional Preview Service” to give you a chance to evaluate our products with no risk.
How does the “Professional Preview Service” work?
At Prestwick House, we know that you do not take the decision of investing your school's money in a program that may or may not work in your classroom lightly, so we've developed a “Professional Preview Program” for your convenience. If you'd like to preview some new materials, simply mail or fax us a letter signed by a school administrator and printed on school letterhead requesting the materials. You can review the books for thirty days before returning them. We will either include a merchandise return label with your shipment or call a shipper to arrange for pickup so that if you decide that you do not want to keep the materials, you don't have to worry about the return postage.
Unfortunately, reproducible items (that is, items designed to be photocopied and handed out to students) cannot be sent out on professional preview. Sample packets or PDFs are available for these products.
Do you have a return policy?
We are confident about the quality of our products, but if for any reason you are unsatisfied, simply return the materials in salable condition within 60 days for a full refund less shipping and handling.
