PRESTWICK HOUSE IS RECOGNIZED AS A TOP-NOTCH PLACE TO WORK
Delaware-based
publishing company has the right balance of work and fun
Smyrna DE, 11 August
2008 – This
week Prestwick House is recognized as one of the top 20 places to work in Delaware for the second year running in the Wilmington News Journal’s Best Places to Work
Survey, receiving a special award for the best Work/Life Mix in 2008. In 2007,
Prestwick House was recognized as number 12 in the top Book Publishing
Companies to work for nationwide in Book Business Magazine.
According
to a survey, about two-thirds of Prestwick
workers say they believe their organization is going in the right direction,
hold confidence in their leaders, and believe the organization has both strong
values and ethics. Eight out of ten believe their manager listens, that it's
easy to tell them the truth, and that they clearly understand their roles in
helping the company succeed.
“I
believe that Prestwick House really values their employees,” says newly-hired
copywriter, Annie Rizzuto, “Not only
do they offer the support you need to help you complete your work, but they
seem to understand the need for a laid-back atmosphere and little fun in your
day. There has never been a Monday morning where I wasn’t excited to come in to
work.”
The
comfortable workplace includes a casual dress code, continental breakfast, and a
café-style meeting room which makes meetings feel less uptight. “Despite the
informal atmosphere, the work ethic remains at a high level. We believe that
this is because we truly appreciate the work our employees put in and we try to
acknowledge their efforts whenever possible,” says general manager, Keith
Bergstrom, “That’s why we try to do something like summer recesses outside or
ice cream on Friday afternoons. It’s a nice way to break up the day and let
everyone know they are appreciated.”
