Smyrna DE, 1 September
2008 – This week,
Prestwick House Inc., Delaware’s
Premier Educational Publisher, is launching its first catalogue focused on
teachers of students in grades 4-8. For more than 25 years, Prestwick House has
served high school teachers by developing and distributing high-quality books
and teaching materials for educators across the country. This new catalogue
will provide middle and upper-elementary-grade teachers with a wide variety of
new and high-quality educational products.
Prestwick
House is anchoring the Middle Grades Catalogue with a new series of vocabulary
books for grades 4-6, Growing Your
Vocabulary: Learning from Latin and Greek Roots that builds on Prestwick
House’s success in developing some of the most popular high school vocabulary
programs available. Based on an organization emphasizing word families, Growing Your Vocabulary uses the most
effective techniques to help students learn new words and the skills needed to
improve their vocabulary. “We’re keenly aware of the different ways that students
learn at different grade levels, so we were careful to design these books with
younger students in mind,” says Paul Moliken,
Senior Editor. “We’re confident that once teachers see these books, they’ll
quickly become the most popular vocabulary books available.” The first of these
books is currently at the printer scheduled to be available by September 5.
The Prestwick House Middle
Grades Book
Center is also aiming to
become the premier source of paperback books for these grade levels by
providing over 500 of the most popular middle school paperback titles at 25% or
more off of the cover price. “We know that school budgets are tight,” says VP
of Operations, Jason Scott, “and building a classroom library can be difficult
for a teacher. To help with that, we’re offering the best discounts available,
whether the teacher needs one copy or one hundred.”
To
supplement this large variety of paperbacks, Prestwick House is re-introducing Prestwick PowerPacks to their line of
reproducible teaching guides and expanding distribution of Teaching Units and Response
Journals for popular classroom favorites such as Shiloh and Bridge to Terabithia. Prestwick House
has the widest variety of literature teaching guides in the country with over
700 books of ready-to-use activities for teachers.
150,000
copies of the new Prestwick
House Middle
Grades Book
Center catalogue will
begin reaching targeted schools and teachers during the first week of September
to coincide with the return of teachers to classrooms across the country. This
introductory catalogue builds off of information gained from tests done over
the last few years and will increase Prestwick House’s penetration into one of
the most valuable markets in education. “This is an exciting time for us,” says
Scott. “It will open up many new opportunities for us in the future.”
