Vocabulary in Context: Wilderness Survival Free Lesson Plan
Use this plan to teach your students the importance of context clues and how to identify the meanings of new vocabulary words. This lesson asks your students to read the handout on Wilderness Survival, a text full of new and challenging vocabulary words, and encourages them to define the words on their own. After generating a definition, your class will discuss and identify the words or phrases that aided them in determining the meaning of each word. By the end of the lesson, your students will understand how to use context clues to define new words.
