AuthorSpeak: Hermann Hesse Free Poster

Hermann Hesse was a German-Swiss novelist and poet, best known for works such as Siddhartha, written in 1922, and Peter Camenzind, written in 1904. The search for identity was a common theme in most of his novels, a reflection of the social and political state Hesse experienced in Germany before he expatriated to Switzerland in the 1920s. Despite having his works banned and destroyed under Hitler’s tyranny, Hesse’s philosophy and intellect were widely praised, and he won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1946.
