Echoes From Literature: Pride and Prejudice Free Poster

Published in 1813, nearly sixteen years after it was first written, Pride and Prejudice is one of Jane Austen’s most beloved novels. Like Sense and Sensibility, her debut novel, Pride and Prejudice was published anonymously, as female authors were often discouraged from using their real names during this time period. Pride and Prejudice was a commercial success upon its release, receiving favorable reviews from literary critics. Unfortunately, Austen’s identity as an author would not be revealed until after her death in 1817.

Today, Pride and Prejudice continues to capture the hearts of readers around the world, thanks in part to its witty protagonist, Elizabeth Bennet. This classroom poster features an inspiring quote from the novel in which Elizabeth expresses her love of laughter.
