This BBC/WGBH-Boston production of Charles Dickens' Great Expectations is a more-or-less faithful dramatization of the beloved story of the orphan Pip. Ioan Gruffudd, Justine Waddell, and Charlotte Rampling head a worthy cast. While I prefer the Disney Channel production with Anthony Hopkins as Magwitch, that one is not available, and this BBC version is a worthy substitute.
The DVD includes access to the Masterpiece Theatre web site, scene selections, and closed captioning.
